Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)
The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) was founded by Eugene Garfield in 1960. It was acquired by Thomsen Scientific in 1992 and is therefore now often referred to as Thomson ISI. ISI offers a long range of bibliographic services. It is especially known for its citation indexes (Science Citation Index, 1963-; Social Science Citation Index, 1973- and Arts and Humanities Citation Index, 1980-).
