Retrievability

Documents, document representations and specific data or information vary in retrievability. Its is the purpose of indexing and other forms of document representation to increase the retrievability of a given document.

Lancaster definers retrievability as ”How much of the literature on the topic, included in the database, can be found using ”reasonable” search strategies” (Lancaster 1998, s. 127).
