Technology criticism
There are many forms of technological criticism of which machine breakers or Luddites is an extreme form.
An interesting example is a report published by a librarian at Roskilde University Center in 1982 with title (translated): "Commercial online searching. A fat and damp squib" (Review: Hjørland, 1983).
The opposite of machine breakers regarding information technology are information fetishists. (Cf., Information ideology).
Deeper philosophical and social based criticism may be
exemplified by social constructivist view of technology (Bijker, 2001) or
philosophical works like Siggaard Jensen & Skovsmose (1986).
