Library cards:
The library is a public library. All inhabitants of
Denmark, who wish to join the library, can do so by
contacting the library. You have to be
a member
of the Royal Library.
Choose student at the Royal School of Library and
Infomation Sciences. Do not answer the question on
faculty.Rules:

The library is open to the public.

All loans must be registered.
-
The person registered for a loan is personally liable for the loan.

Information about a users loan will only be given to the user herself and
the records will be erased on return of the material.

The loaning period for books is one month. The library can differentiate
deadlines or withdraw materials from loan completely.

Journals, bachelor papers, press clipping and photographs are not for loan.
Certain special rules apply to some thesis'.

Interlibrary loans are subject to the rules of the library providing the
material.

The library can claim damages for lost or damaged material. A fee
can be added in connection with claims for damages.

The library users must uphold present copyright acts when using the library's
materials.

Violation of the rules for loans, including violation of deadlines, can lead
to temporary exclusion from loans in the library. Students that repeatedly or
grossly violate the rules will be reported to the principal, cf. the rules about
disciplinary measures against students at Royal School of Library and
Information Science.
The library is a part of the Øresundslåneordningsaftale.
Use of PC's in the Library
Pc's in the library are reserved to searching the library catalogue or
other electronic resources provided by the library. Articles from electronic
journals can be printed free of charge. Printing of compendiums is not allowed.
Photocopying at the library
The photocopying machine does not accept copy cards and are only to be used
for copying journal articles. As the library does not lend out journals from the
collection, students can photocopy articles free of charge. You find the necessary code
near the machine. Please fill out the form there.

The name for the collection in the library on 2nd floor and in the
basement of the C-building.

Examples of bibliographies for educational purposes. Can be found in the room C 1.03 below the library.
The same room have PCs for student use.
- Filmsamling (Collection of films) - A.326
Literature on arts and films including some films. Can be found in the room A.326. Not for loan.
- Collection of handbooks, encyclopedias etc - C.103
Examples of handbooks, encyclopeadias etc. for educational purposes. Can be found in the room C 1.03 below the library.

Older journals circa before
1990. The journals are listed alphabetic. Not for loan.
- Depot S (Thesis' from DB) - Special placement - ask the libary

Hyperion -
Internet
Hyperion contains thesis' produced on DB and a few PH.D.'s.
Hyperion will be phased out soon.
- Ebrary, electronic books - Internet
Ebrary is a database of books and documents in full text published by
different publishers. The collection Academic Complete consists of
28.000 books, documents and cards within economics, IT and technology,
humanities, science and sociology.
To be able to read the books you have to download Ebrary reader the
first time you want to use the database. You can only print 5 pages at a
time, (and 40 pages per login).
If you can't get access to the documents from pc's at the school, you
will have to ask the it-department to install Ebrary reader.
More information about the collection can be seen from the
vendor Prioinfo.
E-books are not catalogued in the library catalog. It is possible to go
directly to the Ebrary-database from DB.

- Film (Films) - A.326
Literature on arts and films including some films. Can be found in the room A.326. Not for loan.
- Historisk Børnebogssamling (Historical Children's Books)- ask the libary
Collection of older Danish children's books donated to the library i 1995
and 1996 by former school librarian Emil Johansson, Copenhagen. Mainly
children's books in Danish, including translations from English, German and
French. The collection also includes titles in Norwegian, Swedish, English,
German and a few other languages, in total 5200 volumes. The collection is
registered in the library catalogue with location “HBø”. Books in the
collection is not for lending.
- Håndbogssamlingen (Handbooks) - C.103
The collection consists
of Danish and foreign language handbooks and encyclopedias in print. The
collection is placed in the Reference Collection building C room 1.03 below
the library.
- Informationsordbogen - Internet
Informationsordbogen is a dictionary on LIS words - with translation to
English - but no explanations in English.
- Informationsportalen - Internet
Large collection of references and reviews for ressorces on the Internet.
Driven by the library form 2003-2008. Not updated.
- Library buildings - Internet
Database
on the most beautiful European libraries. - Musiksamling (Music collection) - A.327
Literature on arts and films including some films. Can be found in the room A.326. Not for loan.
- Møllehøjgårdsamlingen - A.423
The collection of about 1100
volumes, collected by graduate engineer Aage Kann Rasmussen. The collection
is titled "Great Books of the Western World", and consists of books by ,or
in some cases about, 200 selected authors throughout 3000 years. All genres,
filosophy, history, fiction, law, science, medicine etc. are represented.
Brought to the school in 1991.
The collection is located in building A room 4.23. Books in the Møllehøjgård
Collection are not for lending.
- Nordisk BDI-indeks (1979-2006) - Internet Catalog
Joint
Scandinavian indexing of LIS literature, produced by the library schools in
Denmark, Norway and Sweden until 2001. Indexing of Norwegian littereatur
stoped in 2001. From 2001 only Danish literature is indexed in the Danish
database and only Swedish literature is indexed in the Swedish database. The
data is included in
our catalogue in Rex. The Swedish database can be
searched on the Internet.
- BF-PLAKATSAMLING-PR Plakatsamling, (Posters) - Ask the library
The collection consists of 750 Danish library posters from 1980-2000

Literature relevant to the
teaching yet outside the LIS subject field. Not for loan.
- Student's thesis'
The collection of thesis and vocational project reports
published before 2008 can be searched through the library catalogue.
Some student's thesis' can be accessed through Hyperion.
From 2008 and on can be searched in the
database PURE.
