Education
and Aims of the Results The strategic input areas will strengthen the process of realising the vision. The new tendencies in media development, such as those reflected in the areas focused on by the cultural policy, require a completely new development within the core areas of RSLIS.
Against the background of the long-term agreement for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs’ courses and the areas focused on by the cultural policy, the following strategic input areas have been chosen:

Strategy
RSLIS’s strategy will secure the broad process of change and make it possible for RSLIS to realise its vision. RSLIS will focus on the core competences and will:- strengthen subject-pedagogic competences within problem-based learning
- further the implementation of elements from the Bologna Declaration: Diploma Supplement and expand on ECTS cooperation
- implement and improve on English-language teaching courses at the highest international level together with European and other international cooperation partners with a view to increase the exchange of students and tutors

strengthen the business orientation of the courses through development and consolidation of the School’s part time Master’s course;

target development work in relation to the practical world’s requirements;
- strengthen RSLIS’s research communication contribution
- strengthen research on an international basis, which includes ensuring that all important aspects of research are brought out into an international discussion and cooperation forum

strengthen the research as a basis for better communication of the physical and / or the digital cultural inheritance on the Internet;
- develop the quality of and coordinate RSLIS’s researcher education from a Nordic and international perspective

strengthen the business orientation in RSLIS’s researcher education through external co-financing
- develop the quality and consolidate RSLIS as the central continuing educational institution within its field

aim the course range at the intentions of the new Libraries Act;
- further develop the School’s library as an integrated knowledge centre in education

develop the quality of the library’s communication of information with user-friendly integration of search options for the library’s various information resources;

prioritise interdisciplinary competence development initiatives with the purpose of knowledge-sharing, learning and cooperation across the organisation, including development of the School’s IT competences across the board;
- develop the quality of network services for customers and students

establish and run IT facilities for experiments with advanced search software, system software and base software.
